Shuhan Lin

Project Officer

Shuhan is a human rights defender with a background in international relations, with a focus on migration and displacement.

Between 2020 to 2022, Shuhan served as the Refugee Campaigner for the Taiwan Association for Human Rights, where she led multifaceted campaigns and communication initiatives to raise public awareness on refugee protection and the need for Taiwan to establish official asylum procedures for status determination.

In this capacity, she also acted as a spokesperson, representing the organisation in national and international media outlets, and delivered talks at panel events to raise awareness about refugee issues in Taiwan.

Shuhan is particularly interested in the human rights discourse in East Asia and in holding states to account on their human rights obligations.

She graduated from the National Chengchi University in Taipei (BA of International Relations) and received a Master of Science in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2019.

Underscoring her commitment to the East and Southeast communities in the UK, Shuhan is a trained Community Champion to end violence and racism against East and Southeast Asian communities in London. She is a fluent speaker in English, Chinese (Mandarin) and Hakka.
